Free Rubble Site Dates Announced

In an effort to support residents and facilitate spring clean-up projects around town, the Freeman City Council has identified Saturday, June 4, and Wednesday, June 8, as dates for free access to the rubble site west of town.

Extended hours for Saturday, June 4, will be from noon to 6 PM; Wednesday hours on June 8 will be from 3 – 8 PM. No tipping fees will be charged for loads of accepted items during those times. A $20 fee, however, will be assessed per item for CRT (wide, tube style) televisions and older-style computer monitors. Pricing for the disposal of flat screen TV’s and monitors will range from $5 to $25, based on size.

Those eligible to deposit items at the Rubble Site free of charge are those who already pay to utilize the City of Freeman’s garbage collection services. This includes residences and businesses within city limits. It also includes those living within a mile of Freeman who are paying for garbage service, as well as those in Olivet who contract with the City of Freeman for the collection of garbage.

In the “Services” section of this website, you’ll find a listing of materials accepted at the Freeman Rubble Site and Freeman Recycling Center,. Also included is a listing of items that can be placed in garbage receptacles for weekly pick up.

Please note that the City of Freeman does not provide curbside pick-up for rubble site materials. This service, however,  may be provided by a local organization. Watch upcoming issues of The Courier for further details related to that opportunity.
