The South Dakota women’s golf team finished in fourth place with a total score of 921 at the Stampede at the Creek tournament in Omaha, according to an announcement on Apr. 14.
This event marked the final regular season tournament for the Coyotes, who competed against a field of ten teams. The result provides momentum as they prepare for postseason play.
Junior Ella Greenberg led South Dakota by shooting a 69 in Round 1, tying her season-low and finishing fourth overall individually. Ava Schroeder also performed strongly, ending tied for fifth place after rounds of 72, 75, and 81. The team’s opening round score of 295 matched their third-lowest round this season.
Challenging wind conditions affected scores during the second round at Indian Creek Golf Course. By the end of Day 1, South Dakota was third in team standings with a combined score of 611 but dropped one spot to finish fourth after Day 2. Eva Greenberg recorded a final-round best for the team with a score of 76.
Several players improved their scores over multiple rounds. Lara Gehring posted better results each day in her first tournament appearance this season, finishing with a final-round score of 79.
Greenberg’s performance secured her fifth top-5 finish this year while Schroeder earned her third top-5 result. Looking ahead, South Dakota will compete in the Summit League Championships from April 26 to April 28 in Mesa, Arizona.
