Special Election for Medical Cannabis

There will be a special election on November 8, 2022 for the public to vote on the future of medical cannabis in North Sioux City.  Petitions have been submitted to bring to a public vote whether to amend the City ordinance to remove limits on how many medical cannabis establishments can be licensed to operate within City limits.  Currently, City ordinance limits the number of establishments to 4 dispensary, 2 growing, 2 processing, and 2 testing facilities.

A yes vote on the ballot question will remove all limits on the number of medical cannabis facilities.  A no vote will leave the current restrictions in place.

The election will be held on November 8th from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Community Center.  This is the same date, time, and location of the November General Election.  For more information, contact City Hall at 605-232-4276.  This is a VERY important issue!  Please remember to vote!
