Cost of college went up for all students at Dakota Wesleyan University

Tuition and fees rose 2.3 percent for 2018-19 at Dakota Wesleyan University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

South Dakota students paid $27,640 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $610 more than the $27,030 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 198 students received grants or scholarships totaling $3.1 million and 174 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.5 million.

Including all undergraduates (1,024), 717 students used grants or scholarships totaling $12.2 million, and 648 students took out $6.4 million in federal student loans.
