Of the 1,533 people living in Platte in 2019, 53.1 percent (814) were women and 46.9 percent (719) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Southeast South Dakota News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by a ratio of 445-to-410. In the 65 and over age range, there were 185 females and 135 males.
