Of the 10,852 people living in Vermillion in 2020, 51.6 percent (5,596) were women and 48.4 percent (5,256) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Southeast South Dakota News.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by 153. In the 65 and over age range, there were 584 females and 467 males.
