4th of July Celebration -- 2022

July 1 (Friday)

Alley Dance, music from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the alley between the Beer Garden, Rooster's and Schnitz.  The band is BS Band.

July 2 (Saturday)

Menno Mad Frogs Bean Bag Tournament at the baseball field.  3:00 p.m. start time, registration ENDS at 2:00 p.m..  Please arrive 30 minutes early for explanation of tournament rules and brackets.  Two-person teams, double elimination games to 21 points.  Cost is $30 per team.  Must be 18+ to participate; please pre-register your team by contacting Macon Oplinger at 605-999-4990.  Cash payout.  Concessions available/no coolers.  

July 3 (Sunday)

Patriotic Community worship service at 10 a.m. at the City Park (weather pending).

July 4 (Monday)

Road Race:   Race day registration is at the Firehall at 302 S. 5th St. at 7:30 a.m. For more information check the Menno Athletic Club Facebook page. 

Parade:  The annual 4th of July Parade will begin at 11 a.m.  The Kiddy Parade starts at 10:50 a.m.  The theme for this year is "God Bless America".  All floats are to register in front of the Menno City-School Auditorium by 9:30 a.m.  All floats will receive further instruction on line-up at that time.  The parade route begins at the City/School auditorium and proceeds north on 5th Street to the corner of 5th & Heil.  From there it goes one block east to High Street and proceeds south on High to Poplar Street.  At Poplar and High the route proceeds east to Pine Street then south on Pine Street past the Menno Olivet Care Center.  At the intersection of Juniper and Pine, the parade turns west onto Juniper.

Following the parade, the Menno FFA Pork Barbecue serves a meal at the Menno School Auditorium and the American Legion serves a meal of brats at the American Legion Hall (301 S. 4th Street).

Baseball game at 7:30 p.m. versus Freeman.  Fireworks display at the conclusion of the game.

Fireworks Sales:  The Menno Athletic Club sells fireworks each year as a fundraiser for the summer sports programs for area youth.  The stand is open June 27 through July 5 and is located at the corner of Hwy 18 and Pine Street--watch for signs.  For more information check the Menno Athletic Club Facebook page.
