North Sioux City Receives $17 Million in Federal Funding

The City of North Sioux City has been awarded $17 million in federal funding to help pay for a bypass road around the north side of McCook Lake and the Dakota Valley School District campus.  The bypass, when finished, will alleviate the traffic and safety issues which have plagued Northshore Drive for years.  The project includes funds for a new water main as well as sanitary and storm water sewer mains.  Completion of the project would also allow for residential development north of the Dakota Valley campus.  The project is being managed by the South Dakota DOT and is not expected to begin until at least 2025.
