Featured Business in Centerville:
Maria's Mexican Restaurant
The buzz has been going around since people got a taste at the street dance and the wait is finally over! Yes, you are seeing it right, Centerville is now home to an authentic Mexican Restaurant.
Today at noon the restaurant did a soft opening as a test run. Some of Centerville's local business men and women were among the first able to try the food. Chamber of Commerce and Rotary members, volunteer firemen, along with a City Council member all joined other various local employees from businesses in Centerville for the noon buffet that featured a variety of items to sample.
The feedback was pretty unanimous! "It's authentic and its delicious!!" Many were excited to try the food they had been hearing so much about for so long. And the wait was worth it. Maria's did not disappoint!
Maria Martinez, owner and head cook, along with her husband Juan, came to this area of South Dakota when Dakota Plains Dairy opened outside of Centerville. Juan works out at the large milking operation northeast of town while Maria had been working at a cleaning company in Tea until things started to fall into place for her to give the restaurant idea a try in Centerville. Maria has experience working at other restaurants in various states, but this is her first time owning and managing one on her own. She is very excited about the opportunity!
Centerville is very excited too! With the authenticity of Maria's, the restaurant should be a draw for people in surrounding communities as well! We hope Maria's becomes a staple off Broadway for years to come!
Maria's will be doing one more soft opening test run tonight from 5:30 to 8pm with a wide variety of food and drink items available.
After that Maria's will officially be open this Friday at noon for all to enjoy!! Provecho!!
