Dakota Wesleyan University is once again offering a year-long Lecture Series on topics of contemporary interest.
The second of the series will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. in the School of Business, Innovation and Leadership on the DWU campus. Don Hedrick, Chief of Police with the Rapid City Police Department, is an experienced instructor with a demonstrated history of working in the public safety industry. Hedrick graduated from DWU in 2002 and completed an M.S. in Public Administration from USD. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy at the University of Virginia. Hedrick also studied American Indian/Native American Studies at Oglala Lakota College. He is now working on a doctorate in public health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Hedrick’s lecture is entitled “Violent Crime: Challenge and Hope.” In addition to the evening lecture, Hedrick will be available for coffee and conversation from 2 – 3 p.m. in the Tiger Café located inside the McGovern Library.

All presentations are free and open to the public. Each lecture begins at 7 p.m. in the School of Business, Innovation and Leadership, and will also be livestreamed at dwu.edu/live. Check the DWU website events calendar or social media for updates.
