The Beacom School of Business introduced the i2i Competition in 2015 to encourage both high school and university students to explore their creativity by launching a business idea aimed at solving a problem, pushing an industry forward or creating a new market.

Participating students are required to prepare a poster outlining their business model, compose a 300-word abstract describing the business model and give a 10-15 minute oral presentation to a panel of judges.

The competition is divided into a high school division and a university division. Prize money will be awarded to the top three competition finalists in both divisions.

Competitors will be judged based on the impact the problem they are solving currently has on society, the understanding of target markets, customer personas and their willingness to pay for the product/service, feasibility of proposed solution, rarity/competitive advantages, team’s ability to convey the skills to be successful, accurate financial forecasts for markets and more.

Participants must submit their contest entry by March 10. Learn more about contest format, judge’s criteria, rules and eligibility and how to register online.
