SD DOT has Highways 19, 44, 46, and US Highway 18 clear for travel.
Turner County is under a NO TRAVEL ADVISORY for the rest of the rural roadways. Plows are out working hard but there are areas where some plows them selves are stuck. DO NOT TRAVEL please. With the weather the last few days, the Sheriff’s Office can’t respond to calls of stranded motorist who are dismissing the weather and road conditions.
Be aware if you decide to drive and get stuck, you should be prepared to sit until tows and plows can come. If you left your vehicle in the middle of the road after getting stuck, it is subject to being towed and cited for SDCL 32-25-3 Overdriving Road Conditions fine amount of $132.50 along with the responsibility of paying the tow bill.
