USD Hosts Second Annual ‘Gathered’ Event to Celebrate USD and Vermillion Communities

The University of South Dakota, in partnership with the Vermillion Area Chamber & Development Company (VCDC) and VermillionNEXT is set to host this season’s final Thursdays on the Platz in an event titled “GatheRED” at the Ratingen Platz in downtown Vermillion on Aug. 25 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

GatheRED seeks to connect the USD and Vermillion communities in an evening of family-friendly fun.

The evening will feature live music from USD’s pep band, the SOUND of USD, and a local favorite band, Blue Rune. There will also be a variety of activities, including giveaways, face painting, a community art project, student and community groups, and more. Charlie Coyote and the USD Spirit Teams will be in attendance, and Charlie will be doing a book signing for his book “Where’s Charlie?.”

Food provided by Heck’s BBQ and Sabor a Mexico will be available to purchase, and Fernson Brewing Company will also be selling a variety of draft beer, including Yippeeo!.
